The danger I see is that you are basing a Latter day Saint personal worthiness on their political affiliation and using a narrow reading of scripture to bolster your arguement. It isn any better than LDS conservatives using them to bash LDS liberals, Democrats, or Socialists as those ideologies being incompatible with LDS doctrine. One can be a good Latter day Saint across a wide spectrum of political ideologies and even a wide spectrum of candidates.
